LIT printed a new low for its October decline at 2.5862, then rallied 25.8% while open interest fell 23%. The 3.3520 sweep high is now the last lower high.

Three 2011 brass Casascius physical bitcoin rounds — LIT reversed 25.8% off its 2.5862 flush while open interest fell 23%

LIT spent Friday making the low of its entire October decline and the two sessions since doing the opposite. From the 2.5862 print on 30 October the token is up 25.8% at 3.2544, and the 24-hour tape has run from 2.9435 to 3.3344 on $121.9 million of perpetual turnover across 1.18 million trades — a day that would be unremarkable for Bitcoin and is not for a token this far off its high.

The two days that did the work

The move did not start on Sunday. Five sessions from 24 to 28 October held between 2.9131 and 3.2934. On 29 October the market swept that coil's upper edge to 3.3520 and then closed at 2.7026 — below the coil floor, 19.4% under the print — on 64.1 million LIT. The 20-session average is 20.9 million, so that session traded 3.07 times normal volume — the heaviest day of the month.

The next session took out the 23 October low at 3.0736 and printed 2.5862 before closing back at 2.7716 on 1.79 times average. Then came the reclaim: +13.8% on 31 October to 3.1543 — on 0.93 times average volume, i.e. below average. Sunday extended it to a 3.3344 high before closing at 3.2544 on 1.32 times average.

Read the volumes in order: 3.07x, 1.79x, 0.93x, 1.32x. The heaviest volume went into the failure, and the recovery came on the lightest. That is the footprint of a squeeze, not of accumulation.

Open interest fell 23% while price rose 17%

Binance's LIT perpetual carried 17,446,324 LIT of open interest on 30 October. It carried 13,826,382 on 31 October and 13,445,532 on 1 November — a drop of 22.9%, or 4.0 million tokens, in the same two sessions that took the price from 2.7716 to 3.2544 (+17.4%).

The dollar figure tells the same story from the other side: open interest value fell from $47.2 million to $42.4 million, only 10.2%, because each remaining token is worth 17% more. Tokens leaving while price rises is the definition of positions being closed out, and with funding sitting at 0.005% per eight hours (the 30-print average is 0.0031% and the window's lowest print was -0.014%) the side that got closed was not the crowded one.

That distinction matters for what happens next. A rally carried by open interest is new money with a cost of carry; a rally carried by falling open interest runs out of fuel the moment the last short is out.

Four lower highs and one gate at 3.3520

The sequence of highs since the 24 September peak is unbroken: 3.9850 on 21 October, 3.9163 on 22 October, 3.5497 on 23 October, 3.3520 on 29 October, and 3.3344 today — which stopped 0.0176, or 0.53%, below the print before it. Five highs, each lower than the last, with the newest one failing by half a percent.

3.3520 is therefore the line that ends the pattern. The range it defines with Friday's low is 0.7658, and a daily close above the gate projects 4.1178 on a full measured move — the 21 October high of 3.9850 sits as the first shelf on the way, with the 24 September record of 5.5666 far above it.

On the other side, Sunday's low of 3.0543 held 0.0052, or 0.17%, below the 0.618 retrace of the flush at 3.0595, so the pullback inside the bounce has a defined invalidation. Below it sit the 0.5 at 2.9691, Friday's close at 2.7716, and then 2.5862 — the print that, if taken out, ends the entire recovery.

Still 41.5% below the record, not a new trend

October closed at 3.1543, down 20.2% from the 30 September close of 3.9530. The record high of 5.5666 was set on 24 September, and today's 3.2544 is 41.5% below it. On the 250 million circulating supply that Binance's futures data carries, the market cap is roughly $814 million, which puts the token around rank 93 on Coinpaprika's listings.

So the 25.8% bounce is a retrace inside a 41.5% drawdown. The reclaim of the 29 October close and the defence of the 0.618 are real, but they are the first two steps, and both were made without new money entering the perpetual.

What to watch on Monday

Two prints decide whether this is a reversal or a bounce. Funding above +0.01% per eight hours together with open interest rising back through 15 million LIT would mean fresh longs are paying to hold — that is the combination that turns 3.3520 into a base. Funding flat at 0.005% with open interest still bleeding means the covering is finished and the four-lower-high sequence gets another member.

The levels are simple: 3.3520 on a daily close for the break, 4.1178 as the objective if it comes, and 2.5862 for the invalidation. Everything between the two is noise priced at 3.2544 — and the site's own tools directory is where the venue-by-venue fee comparison lives if you are trading this instead of watching it.
