ETH Daily Analysis — A 2,526.62 Push Stopped 21.69 Over the 0.382: The 2,433.48 Line Decides 2,565 or 2,318

ETH ran its 123.66-point base count 68.7% to 2,526.62, 21.69 points over the 0.382, then closed back under it; the 2,433.48 line decides 2,565 or 2,318.

ETH daily candlestick chart, 34 sessions: the 489-point downleg from 2,807.34 to 2,318.00, the 123.66-point base 68.7% paid to 2,526.62 and the 2,433.48 retracement that decides the next leg
Loading ETH candles…

Ethereum is trading 2,430.17 on 22 October, 3.31 points under the 0.236 retracement of its 489.34-point collapse — the first print back below that line since 19 October and 11.49 under the neckline of the base it broke on Monday. The 21 October candle reached 2,526.62 — 21.69 points through the 0.382 — and closed 31.17 back below it. That single session contains the whole argument: the count off 2,441.66 is being paid, and the first rung above it has already rejected once.

The downleg began at 2,807.34 on 21 September on 573,090 ETH and ended at 2,318.00 on 15 October on 446,113 ETH — 1.81x the trailing twenty-session average and still the heaviest print of the last thirty sessions. 489.34 points, 17.4%, in twenty-four sessions. The bounce since is 208.62 points, 42.6% of the fall, and it has not reclaimed the half.

The 123.66-Point Count Went 68.7%

On 19 October this column measured the 2,318.00-2,441.66 base and the 123.66-point count a break would project at 2,565.32. Two sessions later the market had closed above the neckline twice — 2,449.20 on 20 October and 2,473.76 on 21 October — and printed 2,526.62, which is 68.7% of that count. The 21 October session traded 340,373 ETH, 1.35x its trailing twenty-session average, so this was not a thin drift into the level.

The 0.382 Stopped the Push

The retracement ladder of the fall reads 0.236 at 2,433.48, 0.382 at 2,504.93, 0.5 at 2,562.67 and 0.618 at 2,620.41. The 21 October high of 2,526.62 went 21.69 through the 0.382 and closed 31.17 back below it: a wick through the rung, not a hold above it. The 0.5 at 2,562.67 is 36.05 above that high and sits 2.65 points under the count target of 2,565.32, which is why the number the bull case has to print is 2,565, not 2,600.

The Neckline Is Being Retested From Above

2,441.66 is the 17 October high and the lid of the base. The 20 and 21 October closes took it, and today's print of 2,430.17 is 11.49 back under it — a retest, not a failure yet. The distinction matters: a close above it again keeps the count live, while two consecutive closes under it put the market back inside the range it spent four sessions building.

What 2,565 Requires

A defence of 2,433.48 on a closing basis, a reclaim of 2,441.66, and then a second attempt at 2,504.93, the rung that rejected the first push. Above it, 2,526.62 is the swing to clear before the count's 2,565.32, with the 0.5 at 2,562.67 inside the same three-point band. That is a 130-point journey through two levels that have already produced a rejection, so the path of least resistance is chop under 2,504.93 first rather than a straight run.

What 2,318 Costs

A close under 2,433.48 opens 2,372.62, the 20 October low, then 2,329.00 from 18 October, then the 2,318.00 floor. The 15 October sweep that made that floor was the heaviest candle of the last thirty sessions and it closed 124.08 points off its low, so sellers have already been paid once down there. A second visit on lighter tape would be the more dangerous one, because it would mean the buyers who defended 2,318 the first time are gone.

Momentum Has Not Confirmed Either Side

The last sixteen closes have all printed under the 20-day mean, now 2,510.42, and the 50-day at 2,552.88 sits above it. ATR(14) is 91.29 points, 3.75% of spot, while today's range of 53.03 is 59% of the twenty-day average range of 89.90 and volume is running at 0.22x pace. Volatility is compressing into the decision rather than resolving it — the shape of a market waiting for one level to break, not one that is trending.

The count is 68.7% paid and stalled at the first rung above the neckline. 2,433.48 settles the next argument; 2,565.32 is what a second attempt is worth.

The three numbers for the next session are 2,433.48, 2,441.66 and 2,504.93. Above 2,504.93 the 2,565 count is back on the table; below 2,433.48 the 2,372 and 2,318 prints come into play.
