BTC Monthly Analysis — A Single 2026 Close Above 79,485.66 and an 87,395.67 Twin Top: 76,090 Decides 89,400 or 65,256
BTC closed October at 77,582, -7.2% under its open and back below the 79,485.66 pivot. The 76,090.20 retrace now decides whether 89,400 or 65,256 comes first.

Bitcoin closed October at 77,582, -7.2% on the month and 1,904 points back under the April high of 79,485.66. That pivot is the neckline of the whole 2026 base. September closed 83,624 — the only monthly close in 2026 above it — and October took it back. The first two sessions of November are trading 77,983.
The 2026 base is a band, not a low
Three months put a floor under this market: 60,000 in February, 58,115 in June and 57,800 in July. That is a 2,200-point band, 2.8% of spot, and the deepest monthly close inside it was 58,625. July's print at 57,800 was a wick: that candle closed 62,888, 8.8% above its own low, so the undercut of June's 58,115 low took the stops and gave nothing back.

The rebound was not a grind. August closed 25.0% higher at 78,581, September added 6.4% to 83,624, the highest monthly close since December 2025. September is also the month the base's own count went live: 79,485.66 plus the 21,685-point base gives 101,171, and the 87,395.67 high filled 36.5% of it.
Two highs 175.70 points apart
September's 87,395.67 and October's 87,220.00 are 175.67 points apart — 0.20%. Two monthly tests of one shelf is supply, not a coincidence. The second test failed: October opened 83,624, tagged 87,220 and closed 6,042 under September's close on a 10,894-point range. The twin top carries its own count too: neckline at October's low of 76,326, height 11,070, projecting 65,256.

October stopped 235.90 points above the 0.382
The leg I measure runs from July's 57,800 to September's 87,395.67: 29,595 points. Its 0.382 is 76,090.20, the 0.5 is 72,597.93 and the 0.618 is 69,105.66. October's low printed 76,326 — a 37.4% retrace, 235.78 above the 0.382 — and the month closed at a 31.8% retrace, still between the 0.236 at 80,411.14 and the 0.382.
That combination — a shallow retrace holding the 0.382, wrapped around a failed pivot — is a range, not a trend. The bounce off 76,326 is real and the base under it has never been closed through; the 6,042-point giveback in the same month is just as real. Both are true until one of the two lines goes.
The counts on the table
Two measured moves are live and they disagree. Up: a monthly close back above 79,485.66 re-arms the base count at 101,171, with May's 82,850 high and the twin top at 87,395.67 in the way. Down: a monthly close under 76,090.20 opens 72,597.93 and then the twin-top count at 65,256 — which lands 456 points under April's 65,712 low.
I weight the downside slightly heavier, and not because of the shape. The only 2026 monthly close above the pivot was handed back the next month, and November has opened inside a 551-point range that has not even touched 79,485.66. While monthly closes stay under 79,485.66, the path of least resistance runs through 76,090.20 first.
What invalidates both reads
A monthly close below 76,090.20 cancels the bullish retrace read. A monthly close below June's 58,625 confirms the base has failed and puts the 65,256 count on the table. On the other side, a monthly close back above 79,485.66 kills the failure read and re-arms 101,171. Between 76,090.20 and 79,485.66 — 4.4% of spot — there is nothing to trade but noise.
Two lines 4.4% apart hold the whole story: 76,090.20 is the floor under a failed breakout, 79,485.66 is the door back to 87,395.67. Everything between them this quarter is wicks.
Every level is a real monthly print: the 87,395.67 and 87,220.00 highs (frozen indices 109 and 110), the 79,485.66 April high (104), the 60,000 / 58,115 / 57,800 base (102, 106, 107) and the 126,200 all-time high (98). The 0.382, 0.5 and 0.618 are arithmetic on the 57,800-87,395.67 leg; the twin-top count is arithmetic on 87,395.67 and 76,326.
