AVAX Daily Analysis — A 9.018 Rejection at the 0.618 and the Break of an 8.662 Floor: 8.204 Decides 9.26 or 7.92

AVAX tagged 9.018 at the 0.618 and broke a five-session 8.662 floor to 8.559 on average volume. The 0.786 at 8.204 decides 9.26 or the 7.924 double-top count.

AVAX daily candlestick chart: six lower highs from the 12.008 September spike, the 8.662-8.792 floor broken on 29 October, and the 8.204 retrace underneath

Six lower highs and a floor that failed

Avalanche opened at 9.007, tagged 9.018 and then gave the whole session back: the low printed 8.559, the close 8.653, and the five-session shelf between 8.662 and 8.792 that had held since 24 October is now broken. The range was 0.459 points — 0.99x the 14-day average true range — and this is the lowest close since 18 September, the last time the market traded at these prices. Eighteen straight sessions have now closed under the 20-day moving average.

The structure that produced it is not subtle. From the 29 September spike high at 12.008 the market has printed five consecutive lower highs: 11.730 on 6 October, 11.115 on 12 October, 10.522 on 16 October, 10.054 on 21 October and 9.162 on 28 October. Today's 9.018 is a sixth. A falling ceiling that has been respected for six attempts is a rail, not a coincidence.

The 0.618 was tagged to the tick, then sold

The leg that matters runs from the 16 September low at 7.169 to the 12.008 high — 4.839 points. Its 0.618 sits at 9.0175. Today's high printed 9.018, five ten-thousandths above the level, and the session closed 0.364 underneath it. The same 0.618 was lost on 24 October (close 8.994) after four sessions of holding above it, so today's rebound was a test from below — the pattern a broken support makes when it turns into resistance.

The descending rail from 12.008 (29 September) to 10.054 (21 October) falls 0.0888 points a session and reads 9.3435 for today. Today's high stopped 0.325 under it. Two independent lines — the 0.618 at 9.02 and the rail at 9.34 — squeezing today's high into a 0.33-point band is the tightest confluence this chart has offered since the top.

The floor broke on average volume, not on capitulation

Five sessions bottomed at 8.675, 8.744, 8.765, 8.662 and 8.792 — a 0.130 band, 1.5% of spot, while volume fell away from the October distribution. Today broke the bottom of that band to 8.559 on 0.66 million AVAX in the first seven hours, which is 0.30x the twenty-day average of 2.16 million for that fraction of a session. In other words: an average-volume break. Nothing here says the sellers have arrived in size.

That is the one detail that keeps this from being a clean breakdown. A shelf that gives way on the twenty-day average is usually a liquidity sweep — stops under a visible floor taken by a market that wants the other side — while a shelf that gives way on two or three times the average is distribution. This chart has already run that experiment once this month: the 0.382 at 10.160 was lost on 14 October on 0.62x the trailing average, and the market spent the next week bouncing from 9.337 to 10.054 before it rolled over again.

Momentum is already stretched: RSI(14) at 13.2, and the price sits 9.87% under the 20-day at 9.600 and 11.31% under the 50-day at 9.756. The last time the daily RSI printed this low, on 25 October, the next session closed 0.55% higher. Oversold is a condition, not a signal — but it is why the bear case below needs a close, not a wick.

8.204 is the level, 7.924 is the count

Below today's low, the 0.786 of the same 4.839-point leg sits at 8.2045, and it is not a bare fibonacci line: 8.204 is also the 18 September close, the exact price the market left behind on the day before the vertical move started. A level that coincides with a real printed close is stronger than one that does not. With a 14-day ATR of 0.462 points (5.34% of spot), one average session covers the 0.448 points between here and there.

Under that, the double top at 11.799 (21 September) and 12.008 (29 September) still has a live measured move. The neckline is the 24 September low at 9.966, the count is 2.042 points, and projected from the neckline that is 7.924 — an 84% retrace of the September leg and the level where the 12.008 spike would be fully unwound. It is a big number, and it only activates on a weekly close under 8.205.

The two paths from 8.653

Bull: reclaim the broken floor. A close back above 8.792 puts 9.018 — today's rejection — back in play, and 9.264, the 18 October low and the last structural print before the slide, is the gate. Above 9.264 the 20-day at 9.600 is the first real test, with 10.054 as the objective. The path should not be a straight line: a retest of 8.559, a wick to 8.20 and a reclaim in the same week would be the normal shape of this repair, and any close under 8.559 while it is in progress cancels it.

Bear: the motion is already in place. A daily close under 8.559 opens 8.205, and the first defence there is mechanical — an oversold market at a fibonacci level with a printed close behind it. Losing 8.205 on a weekly basis is what turns 7.924 from arithmetic into a target. In between, expect choppy two-way trade: a bounce to 8.90, a rejection, a lower high, a sweep of 8.559 — markets do not travel in straight lines even when the structure is broken.

The floor broke, but it broke on the twenty-day average and not on three times it. Until volume expands, 8.559 is a sweep that has not been confirmed by a close.
