TAO 4-Hour Analysis — Post-Impulse Coil: The 255 Pivot Decides a 277 Retest (55%) or a 242 Fill (45%)

TAO 4h: 26% impulse from 220 to 277 now coiling between 249.5 and 272.2. Close above 263 retests 277 then 290 (55%); losing 255 opens 249.5-242 (45%).

An AI processor chip on a black circuit board — TAO coiling after its impulse with the 255 pivot in play

On the 4-hour chart, TAO is in the digestion phase of a violent two-day impulse that took price from 220 to 277. What happens next is being decided inside a tightening coil between 249.5 and 272.2 — with the 255 line acting as the pivot. This is the intraday companion to our weekly TAO analysis: same asset, faster timeframe, different decision levels.

The Setup

The 4h structure is a clean impulse-retracement pattern. From the 220.0 low on September 4, TAO ripped higher through three distinct legs — 220 to 241, then 242 to 268.8, then a final push to the 277.0 swing high early on September 7. That is roughly a 26% move in under three days, which makes the current pullback entirely normal: price has spent the last day and a half coiling between 249.5 and 272.2, forming a textbook flag/pennant under the highs.

The coil itself is informative. Each lower swing since the 277 high has found a bid near the same area — 254.2, 253.2, 251.7, 249.5 — a slowly rising floor that keeps the retracement shallow. Meanwhile the upper boundary has been drifting down from 272 to 263. That convergence is exactly what a continuation setup looks like before it picks a side.

The Levels

Support below: the immediate pivot is 255.2 — the 0.382 retracement of the 220-to-277 impulse. Under that, 249.5 (the coil floor and the 0.5 retracement zone), then 245.7 and the 0.618 at 241.8. Resistance above: 263 (the descending coil ceiling), then 269-272 (the range highs), and finally 277.0 — the swing high that, once broken on the 4h, sets up a fast extension toward the weekly measured-move zone at 290-296.

Scenarios & Probabilities

BULL — roughly 55% probability. A 4h close above 263 breaks the descending ceiling and targets the 269-272 shelf, then 277. A clean 4h close above 277 confirms the coil as a continuation and opens the fast lane to 285-290, with the weekly measured move at 290-296 becoming the magnet. The rising floor of the coil — higher lows at 254, 253, 251, 249 — supports this path; buyers have been willing to step in earlier each time.

BEAR — roughly 45% probability. A 4h close below 255.2 (the 0.382) invalidates the shallow-retracement thesis and opens 249.5, then 245.7. The 0.618 retracement at 241.8 is the line that matters for the bigger picture — holding it keeps the August/September breakout structure intact. Losing 241.8 on the 4h would shift the balance back to the weekly 218-224 reaccumulation zone.

Invalidations: BULL is cancelled on a 4h close below 249.5; BEAR is cancelled on a 4h close above 277. Between those levels, the coil is simply coiling — and coils resolve in the direction of the trend that preceded them. The preceding trend is up.

On the 4h this is as simple as it gets: an impulse, a shallow retracement, and a tightening flag under the highs. The 255 pivot is the swing vote — hold it and the path of least resistance is back toward 277 and then 290; lose it and 242 becomes the battleground. I give the upside roughly 55% here, which is slightly less than the weekly read because the 4h still needs to digest a 26% two-day move.

Bottom Line

TAO's 4-hour chart is coiling under the 277 swing high after a 26% impulse, with 255 as the pivot. Above 263, expect a retest of 277 and then the 290-296 measured-move zone (~55% probability). Below 249.5, the retracement deepens toward 242, where the bigger bullish structure stays intact. Pairs well with the weekly view: both timeframes agree the 277 gate is the key level, they just disagree slightly on the near-term odds.
