Injective Just Put $1B of Mortgage Records Onchain — the $5.68 Gate That Decides Whether INJ Retests $6.06
Injective crossed $1B in tokenized mortgage records as Pineapple moves its $10B book onchain. INJ reclaimed $5.31; a close above $5.68 opens the $6.06 retest.

Injective just crossed a milestone most layer-1s can only pitch: more than $1 billion in real, funded residential mortgage records now lives on its blockchain. The migration comes from Pineapple Financial (NYSE American: PAPL), a Toronto lender that has been moving its historical loan book onchain since December 2025 — and the market read it immediately. INJ jumped from about $4.90 to $5.31 between Friday and Saturday as the milestone spread, closing the week up 12% with momentum still building this morning.
What makes this different from the usual RWA press release is the scale of what is still coming. This is not a pilot or a proof of concept anymore — it is a live, publicly trackable loan book, and the company behind it is a regulated, exchange-listed lender with a balance sheet already committed to the network.

Pineapple Put $1B of Mortgages Onchain — $10B Is the Target
Pineapple's dashboard now shows 2,079 mortgage records onchainper Injective's announcement, up from 1,259 records when the program launched in December 2025. Each record is a metadata-rich entry tied to an underlying funded loan file — more than 500 data points covering borrower profile, loan terms, funding history and risk indicators, all packed into a single auditable onchain entry. The tokenized record token, PAPL0, has reached roughly $1.1 billion in asset market cap, up about 48% over nine months, according to Token Terminal.
Crucially, Pineapple is not creating new mortgage securities or synthetic instruments. The onchain records are a transparent data and verification layer on top of loans that keep their original legal structure — built so servicers, custodians and counterparties can query one unified, auditable source instead of reconciling fragmented paperwork. The stated endgame is the entire historical portfolio: more than 29,000 funded mortgages worth over $10 billionwith the full program detailed here. At 2,079 records against that target, the migration is roughly 7% complete — every next batch is more institutional RWA value settling on Injective.

The relationship goes beyond records. Pineapple closed a $100 million private placement and used it to build an INJ digital asset treasuryINJ treasury strategy — staked with Kraken as the primary validator — making it the first publicly traded company to hold INJ on its balance sheet. When the treasury was announced, the CEO put it in direct terms:
Traditional finance runs on access to capital, and INJ represents a potential avenue for enabling the entire finance industry to move onto blockchain-based rails.

A Regulated RWA Stack: Transfer Agent, Mint and the Buyback Loop
The mortgage milestone sits on top of infrastructure Injective has been assembling for months. On August 19, Injective Institutional Services registered with the SEC as a transfer agentper the Injective blog — the kind of license that lets it keep official ownership and transfer records for securities. The Pineapple mortgage program is not classified as a securities product, but it runs on the same compliance-grade rails, and the tokenization layer is now fully self-serve through Injective Mint, which lets institutions issue and manage tokenized assets with built-in permissioning and no custom smart contracts.
Underneath the adoption story, the tokenomics have been doing quiet work. A fresh Community BuyBack round burned roughly 25,199 INJper CoinMarketCap (about $120K at settlement) — round 233 of a program that has permanently removed more than 7 million INJ from supply. Staking has climbed to a new on-chain high above 58 million INJ, roughly 58% of circulating supply locked for yield and network security. More supply locked, more supply burned, and now a real institutional use case feeding demand for blockspace: that combination is what separates this move from a narrative pump.
The Chart: A Shakeout That Held — $5.68 Is the Gate
On the Binance daily chart the sequence is a flush, a V-reversal and a retest. INJ bottomed at $3.957 on August 18 during the market-wide flush, then reversed 53% in five sessions to a $6.057 spike high on August 25 on roughly seven times average volume. The retrace that followed dragged price to $4.654 by September 4 — a sweep just under the 0.618 Fibonacci of the entire leg at $4.76 — and it snapped back the same day. Saturday's +7.4% candle closed at $5.31, reclaiming the 0.5 level near $5.00, and Sunday's session is pushing toward the next shelf.
That shelf is the $5.63-5.68 zone — the August 26/27 lower highs that have capped every attempt since the spike. A daily close above $5.68 opens a retest of the $6.01-6.06 spike zone, and a clean break there points toward the $6.70-7.00 measured area (the width of the $4.654-to-$5.68 coil adds roughly $1.03 to the breakout). The path of least resistance only shifts bearish on a daily close back under $5.00, which would open the $4.72-4.76 support band and eventually a retest of the $4.654 low. A close below $4.654 would invalidate the recovery and put the August lows back in play.
Live price is around $5.50 with a market cap near $550 million, sitting just inside the top-100 again — per CoinGecko live data, up roughly 12% on the week and 21% over the month. The full $10 billion Pineapple migration, the transfer-agent license and the tightening supply loop are the reasons this chart still has room to argue with itself — the milestones are real, and the tape is starting to agree.
