AVAX Daily Analysis — Triple-Touch $7.00 Shelf: 0.5 Fib Decides 8.32 Retest or 6.69 Slide

AVAX 1d: the Aug $8.32 spike coils above a triple-touch $7.00 shelf, the 0.5 fib of the 5.68-8.32 run. Over 7.47 opens 7.89-8.32; under 7.00 targets 6.69.

The Setup

AVAX spent June and July stacking a base between $5.95 and $7.00 — a two-month shelf built on the June 19 low of $5.681. On Aug 19 it finally broke out: three sessions of accelerating volume (3.8M, 4.1M, 5.5M, 5.8M against a 1-2M baseline) carried price from $6.33 to the Aug 22 spike high of $8.317. That is the impulse everything since has been correcting.

The correction has been orderly. Ten sessions after the spike, AVAX is coiling between the $7.00 floor and a descending line of lower highs — and the floor is where the story gets interesting. The low has touched $7.00 three separate times: the Aug 22 wick to exactly 7.000, Aug 30's 7.011, and Sep 2's 7.041. Each touch got bought. What makes that zone mechanical rather than sentimental is the fib overlay: the 0.5 retracement of the entire $5.681-$8.317 impulse lands at $6.999 — right on the shelf.

The Levels

Overhead, the coil ceiling is the $7.47-7.60 band — the swing highs of Aug 27-30. Above it, $7.83 (Aug 21 high) is the first reference, then the spike top at $8.317. A close above $7.47-7.60 confirms the lower-highs line has been broken and reframes this whole coil as a bull flag on the daily, with the spike zone as the near-term target and the 120-day window open to the May high at $10.49 beyond it.

Underneath, the defense is layered: $7.00-7.04 (triple-touch shelf + 0.5 fib at 6.999) first, then the 0.618 retracement at $6.688, then the 0.786 at $6.245 — which is exactly where August's breakout launched. The August volume footprint says the base was bought by serious money; a daily close below $7.00 would be the first sign that footprint is being unwound.

Scenarios

BULL (the shelf holds): price defends $7.00-7.04, reclaims the lower-highs line, and the coil resolves upward. Expect the first attempt at $7.47-7.60 to fail once — that is the nature of a ceiling with three touches — then a daily close above it opens $7.83 and the spike retest at $8.32. Choppy along the way: shakeouts under $7.20 are normal and buyable while $7.00 holds.

BEAR (the shelf breaks): a daily close below $7.00 cancels the 0.5-fib confluence and the bull-flag shape entirely. The measured slide targets $6.69 (0.618), and a liquidation sweep below the round number is likely first — wicks under $7.00 before the real direction shows. If $6.69 fails, the final support is the $6.24-6.33 launch zone where the whole August move began.

Probabilities: mildly bullish while the triple-touch floor holds — a two-month base that breaks on rising volume and then holds its 0.5 retracement is the anatomy of a continuation, not a top. Call it 55/45 toward the $8.32 retest. But nothing is confirmed until $7.47-7.60 gives way on a daily close; until then the coil can grind for another week. Invalidation: BULL dies on a daily close below $7.00; BEAR dies on a daily close above $7.60.

Three touches of 7.00, each one bought, and the 0.5 of the whole June-to-August impulse sitting at 6.999 — that is not a coincidence, that is a floor. The line overhead is the enemy: a close above 7.47 turns this from a falling wedge into a flag, and flags from bases this long tend to fly.

Bottom Line

AVAX's August breakout is correcting exactly the way a healthy breakout corrects: into its first real support, on falling volume, without ever reclaiming the base it left behind. The $7.00 shelf — three touches plus the 0.5 retracement — is the line in the sand. A daily close above $7.47-7.60 reopens $7.83 and the $8.32 spike; a daily close below $7.00 opens the $6.69-6.24 retrace zone. Until one of those happens, expect the coil between $7.00 and $7.60 to continue.
