A physical Ethereum coin resting on moss — Aero's October 21 launch across seven EVM chains, with 100% of exchange revenue routed to AERO stakers

On September 25 the team behind Aero confirmed the one thing a merger story needs to stop being a merger story: a date. The unified liquidity protocol built out of Aerodrome and Velodrome will go live at 8 p.m. EDT on October 21, and the deployment list grew to seven EVM chains — Base, Ethereum mainnet, OP Mainnet, Arc, Ink, Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum. AERO closed that session at $0.8479 from a $0.6964 open, a 21.7% day, and then printed $0.9366 on September 26, its highest tick since November 14, 2025.

That is the trade in one line: a product date, a revenue promise attached to it, and a token that re-rated before the product shipped. Here is what is actually confirmed, what it costs, and the levels that decide whether the move holds into October.

What Aero Is Now — One Token Instead of Two

Aerodrome was the largest decentralized exchange on Base. Velodrome held the same position on OP Mainnet. Aero folds both into a single cross-chain liquidity layer, and it folds their governance and incentive tokens with them: AERO and VELO become one AERO asset, distributed 94.5% to existing AERO holders and 5.5% to VELO holders, with the team confirming no new minting and no private sale behind the launch, per the October 21 launch report.

The economics are the part worth reading twice. Aero says 100% of exchange revenue goes to AERO stakers. Staked AERO becomes sAERO, and those holders vote to point rewards at liquidity pools through a ve(3,3)-style mechanism the protocol calls Predictive Allocation. On top of that, the protocol enables permissionless token launches, so any project can create and list a pair without waiting on a team approval — which, in a market where listing decisions are normally gatekept, is the part that could actually feed the revenue line.

Seven Chains, and the Two That Matter Most

The roster confirmed on September 25 adds Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum to Base, Ethereum mainnet, OP Mainnet, Arc and Ink. Robinhood Chain is the interesting one: it is an Arbitrum Orbit network that went live on mainnet on July 1, 2026, and it brings tokenized stock products to the deployment — meaning the merged DEX would open with regulated equity exposure on the same venue as its crypto pairs, according to the chain roster coverage.

Technically the protocol runs on what its developer Dromos Labs calls MetaDEX03, with cross-chain token swaps branded Metaswaps. The scale reference that matters: Aerodrome and Velodrome together already handle roughly 17% of all EVM spot trading volume, and the team expects the seven-chain rollout to roughly triple the market its deployments cover, per the launch confirmation.

The Pre-Launch Checklist Aero Says Is Finished

Aero Lite — a stripped-down build for early liquidity infrastructure — is already deployed on Arc. The public audit contest closed with zero major issues identified, and the team says fixes have been merged with the full application in final quality assurance ahead of the launch. Liquidity launchpad programs are also in place to bootstrap trading pairs and pull in early providers.

Read that list as a schedule, not marketing. Live testnet-style deployment, closed audit, merged fixes, QA — those are the four gates a launch either clears or slips through, and Aero is claiming three and a half of them with three weeks on the clock.

What the Tape Did With the Date

The candles are unusually clean for a headline move. September 24 closed at $0.6964 with a $0.6550 low. September 25 opened at $0.6965, never traded below $0.6908, ran to $0.8668 and closed at $0.8479 on 1.93 million AERO — 1.42 times the prior twenty-session average of 1.36 million. September 26 added a $0.9366 high on 2.06 million AERO, 1.51 times that same average, and closed at $0.8656.

Two sessions, two volume expansions, no failed follow-through. The $0.9366 print is the highest since November 14, 2025, which makes it a break of a ten-month ceiling rather than a local spike — and AERO is still about 37% below its November 2025 high of $1.3047. The live tape on September 27 has pulled back to $0.8277, which is a 0.382 retracement of the move to the cent.

It is also extended, and that matters for anyone entering now. AERO trades roughly 29% above its twenty-day average of $0.6437, 53% above its fifty-day average of $0.5404 and 84% above its two-hundred-day average of $0.4497. Daily RSI(14) sits at 76.8 and ATR(14) is $0.07, about 8.5% of spot. Market capitalisation is near $824 million on roughly 996 million tokens in circulation.

The Revenue Machine Behind the Date

The reason a 21% move held instead of fading is that it landed on top of a fundamental turn that started in early September. Base became the settlement venue for tokenized US equities this year, and Aerodrome is where that flow trades: cumulative tokenized-stock volume on the network passed $250 million within about two weeks, with on-chain versions of Amazon, Microsoft, Tesla, SpaceX and others routing through the DEX, per the tokenized-equity volume breakdown.

That flow shows up in fees. Weekly protocol fees climbed roughly 90% week over week to about $1.9 million — the highest in at least three months and roughly 65% above the prior three-month peak, according to analyst data cited on the protocol's fee growth. Token-side support came from a 281,000 AERO buyback through the Protocol Growth Fund, with nearly 200 million AERO bought back and locked across the PGF, Flight School and Relay programs. AERO was also accepted as collateral for fixed-rate borrowing on Tenor OTC, and Aerodrome handled 54% of Bitcoin-to-dollar volume across EVM DEXs in July.

Put the pieces together and the pitch is straightforward: fees per swap up, token float shrinking, and a launch on October 21 that hands stakers 100% of what the exchange earns. That is a value-capture story, not a narrative one.

The Levels That Decide the Next Leg

Measure the announcement leg from the September 23 low of $0.6500 to the $0.9366 high — $0.2866 of range. The 0.236 retracement is $0.8689, the 0.382 is $0.8271, the midpoint is $0.7933 and the 0.618 is $0.7595. Spot at $0.8277 is sitting on the 0.382, which is the classic continuation shelf. Widen the leg to the September 18 low of $0.5802 and the same ratios land at $0.8525, $0.8005, $0.7788 and $0.7564.

The bullish path: reclaim $0.8668-$0.8689, the September 25 high and the 0.236 of the leg, then take out $0.9366. The November 14, 2025 high of $0.9416 sits just above it, and a full repeat of the $0.2866 announcement leg measured from the $0.8246 retest low projects $1.11, straight into the November 2025 cluster at $1.01-$1.22. The bearish path: lose $0.8200, then $0.7933, then $0.7595, with the prior swing high at $0.7376 as the last shelf before the announcement base at $0.6964-$0.6908.

Each side has a clean invalidation. A daily close under $0.6964 erases the entire date move and puts the September range low at $0.6500 back in play. A decisive break above $0.9366 leaves no supply on this chart until the November 2025 levels.

What to Watch Into October 21

Three things, all of them dated. First, whether AERO holds the $0.8271-$0.8200 shelf on daily closes — that is the difference between a flag and a failed breakout. Second, whether weekly protocol fees stay near the $1.9 million print now that tokenized-equity volume is on the network, because the launch revenue promise is only as good as the flow behind it. Third, execution: live deployment on seven chains, on schedule, after an audit that found nothing major.

The wider market is cooperating. Bitcoin is holding around $84,900 and altcoins are doing the work this week — Quant, Dash and the privacy names are all making bigger percentage moves than the majors, per the September 27 market wrap. AERO at $0.8277 with a product date and a revenue switch three weeks out is one of the few names in that rotation with a hard catalyst attached. The date is set. The levels are set. Both resolve in October.
