SUI Daily Analysis — A Three-Touch 1.0922 Shelf Cracked to 0.9980: The 1.0482 Retrace Decides 1.1468 or the 0.8959 Count
SUI cracked a three-touch 1.0922 shelf to 0.9980 on 0.99x tape and closed back above the 0.618. The 1.0482 retrace decides 1.1468 or the 0.8959 count next.

SUI is trading at 1.0650 in the opening hours of the 9 October session, 17.7% under the 1.2947 window top of 27 September and 18.9% above the 0.8959 count that the same structure projects. Today's range is 0.0338, 3.17% of spot, on 15,219,034 SUI in the first 7.1 hours — a pace of about 0.47x a normal full session against the 20-day average of 108,342,256. The number that matters is 1.0482: the 0.618 retracement of the 0.8959-1.2947 advance. The 8 October session closed 0.0074 under it and today's session has traded back above it.
A Shelf With Three Touches, Undone in One Session
The 1.0922-1.1049 band was not a guess. SUI printed 1.0922 on 29 September, 1.1032 on 2 October and 1.1049 on 7 October — three touches of the same 0.0127 pocket — and every close from 29 September to 7 October finished above it. That is nine sessions of two-sided trade sitting on one floor. The 8 October session opened 1.1282, printed 1.1468 first and then 0.9980, closing at 1.0408 on 107,416,170 SUI, 0.99x the 20-day average of 108,342,256 but the heaviest tape since 2 October. One range took out the last three lows and swept the round 1.0000. Today's session has printed 1.0396 and traded back to 1.0650.

The Count Lands on the Origin of the Move
Two independent measurements point at the same pocket. The distribution's own count: the twin peaks are 1.2947 (27 September) and 1.2655 (4 October) and the shelf between them is 1.0922, a 0.2025 band — subtracted from the shelf that projects 0.8897. The retracement count: half of the 0.3988 advance is 1.0953, and 1.2947 minus that 0.1994 projects 0.8959. That second figure is not a coincidence, it is the 21 September low — the candle that opened the whole advance, printing 0.8959 and closing 1.0427 on 239,682,687 SUI, 2.96x its trailing average. The 8 October low of 0.9980 stopped 0.0168 above the 0.786 at 0.9812, so the market has retraced 74.4% of the leg and left the arithmetic target sitting exactly where the move began.
The Thin Band Between Here and the Top
The recovery path is not evenly supplied. The shelf's underside at 1.1049 is the first line to take back, and the 8 October high of 1.1468 sits just above the 0.382 of the advance at 1.1424. Above that the candles thin out: 1.1788 was the 7 October high, 1.2186 the 2 October high and 1.2655 the 4 October lower peak, and the tape under them is the lightest of the whole sequence — 65.4 million on 4 October and 52.7 million on 6 October, less than half the 20-day average. Thin volume cuts both ways, which is why 1.1468-1.2186 is the band to watch rather than any single line.

What Each Side Needs
The bull case has to reclaim in order. First a close back above 1.0482, which this session is attempting, then the broken shelf at 1.0922-1.1049, then the 8 October high at 1.1468 — above which the 4 October low of 1.1707 is the next shelf. A close above 1.1468 puts the falling rail back in play and reopens the 4 October lower peak at 1.2655 and the 1.2947 top. This path dies on a daily close under 0.9980.
The bear case is the same chart read from the shelf down. Under 1.0396 the 0.786 at 0.9812 is the first shelf, and beneath it the two counts agree on a 0.8897-0.8959 pocket sitting on the 21 September origin. The 0.618 is already lost on a weekly basis and the 0.5 at 1.0953 is overhead supply. The bear case cancels on a daily close back above the shelf at 1.0922, because that is the floor the 8 October session broke.
Three touches, nine closes, one session to undo it: the 8 October candle opened above the shelf and closed 0.0641 under it, and the count it opens lands on the exact low the whole advance started from.
