Bitcoin has been rejected from the same 175-point shelf three times in twenty-six sessions. The first was 21 September at 87,395.67, on 31,963 BTC — 2.23x the twenty sessions before it and the heaviest print since 21 August. The second came two sessions later at 87,278.54 on 22,151 BTC. The third was 2 October at 87,220.00 on 26,498 BTC. Each retest carried less of the volume that built the first high, and only the first of the three closed within 800 points of the level: 86,620.00, then 84,397.60, then 84,518.01.

A Shelf, Not a Breakout Attempt

Three failures inside 175.67 points is not a market that is trying to go higher and being unlucky. It is a market that is being sold by the same seller three times. The tell is not the price, which barely moved between the peaks, it is the volume: 31,963, then 22,151, then 26,498 against a twenty-day average of roughly 14,300 BTC. The supply did not shrink because the sellers ran out. It shrank because each retest found fewer buyers willing to take the other side.

The trough that separates the second and third rejection is the 28 September low at 82,563.00, printed on 1.30x the twenty-session average. That is the neckline of the structure, and it held for four sessions while the market coiled between 82,775.94 and 85,649.95.

The Neckline Went on 8 October

On 8 October the coil resolved. The session printed 80,393.56 on 1.29x the twenty-day average, closed at 81,754.45 and finished 808.55 points under the neckline. The twin top became a measured move at that moment, not before it.

The 0.236 Was Missed by Seventeen Points

The advance that produced the top ran from 57,800.19 on 1 July to 87,395.67 — 29,595.48 points. The 0.236 retrace of that move sits at 80,411.14. The 8 October low of 80,393.56 finished 17.58 points below it, which is 0.02% under a level drawn from a six-month range. A miss that small is not a coincidence; it is the market using the retrace as a shelf.

Fifteen October Was the Heaviest Session of the Correction

The 15 October candle is the one that changed the tape. It traded 79,800.00 — 611.14 points through the 0.236 — on 1.55x the twenty-day average, the heaviest session since 8 October, and then closed at 82,245.93. That is 2,445.93 points, or 3.07%, above its own low. The wick went under the level. The close did not.

Three highs, one neckline and a 4,832.67-point count that is 57.2% delivered. The market has now swept both the 82,563.00 neckline and the 0.236 of the entire advance without a single close beneath either. That is a floor, not a breakdown — but it is a floor that keeps being tested, and the supply above it keeps stepping down.

What the Count Still Owes

The arithmetic is simple and it is still pointing lower. 87,395.67 minus the 82,563.00 neckline is 4,832.67 points. The 15 October low delivered 2,763.00 of that, or 57.2%. The remaining 2,069.67 projects to 77,730.33, which is 2.6% under the sweep and sits between the 0.382 of the advance at 76,090.20 and the 0.236 at 80,411.14. Unfilled measured moves are where the market usually goes when a floor fails.

The Bull Case Needs the Gate First

The bulls need 82,940.81 — 16 October's lower high and the last link of the chain — closed above first, and today's 81,638.70 is 1,302.11 short of it. Above that level the chart does not open up; it runs into a wall. Three highs in three sessions at 84,352.00, 84,168.00 and 84,146.72 all sit inside 206 points, which means someone sold that band repeatedly on 12-14 October. A close above 84,352.00 would be the first higher high since 2 October.

The retrace ladder of the 7,595.67-point flush runs 82,701.55 at the 0.382, 83,597.83 at the 0.5 and 84,494.12 at the 0.618. The last of those sits 142 points above the top of the supply cluster, so a close above 84,494.12 would clear both at once and put the three-touch shelf at 87,220.00 on notice. Only a close above 87,220.00 cancels the pattern outright, and that is 6.8% away.

The Bear Case Has the Gate and the Count

Against all of that, the daily structure is still a confirmed triple top and every high since 12 October has failed to better the one before it, with a single 306-point exception on 16 October. Sellers get 81,033.66 — 13 October's low — as the first trigger, then 80,393.56 and the 0.236 at 80,411.14 as one cluster, then 79,800.00. A close under 79,800.00 reopens 77,730.33 and puts the 0.382 of the advance at 76,090.20 in play.

The path of least resistance still tilts down: three rejections at one shelf, a confirmed neckline break, and a chain of lower highs that has not been broken since 2 October. But the tape has swept the 0.236 twice without closing under it, and the last three sessions printed higher lows at 79,800.00, 80,809.25 and 81,416.00. That is a coil, not a waterfall.

I would give the bears the edge at roughly 55/45 until 82,940.81 is closed above — at which point the same supply that rejected three times at 87,220.00 and repeatedly at 84,352.00 becomes the fuel for 84,494.12, because everyone who sold those two shelves is short into the next one. The invalidation on the downside is a daily close under 79,800.00; the invalidation on the upside is a daily close over 84,494.12. Between those two lines, this is a range with a bearish bias and no reason to be brave in either direction.
