BTC Daily Analysis — The 87,395 Double Top Filled Its 82,832 Count: The 84,463 Retrace Decides 88,553 or 81,182
Bitcoin's 87,395 double top filled its 82,832 measured move at today's 82,705.02 low. The 84,463 retrace now decides whether 88,553 or 81,182 comes next.

Bitcoin is trading at 83,122.01 in the opening hours of the 28 September session, 4.89% under the 87,395.67 peak of 21 September — the 120-day high — and 43.8% above the 1 July window low of 57,800.19. Today's range is 2,293.98 points, 2.76% of spot, on a 1.25x full-day volume pace against the 20-day average of 16,088 BTC. The low printed 82,705.02, and that number matters: it is where two separate measurements of the same pattern converge.
The Double Top Is Two Sessions and 117 Points Wide
The 21 September session opened 81,178.01, ran to 87,395.67 and closed 86,620.00 on 31,963 BTC — 1.99x the 20-day average and the heaviest candle of the last three weeks. Two sessions later the market tried it again: the 23 September candle opened 86,208.57, tagged 87,278.54 — 117.13 points under the first peak — and then closed 84,397.60. That is a failure, not a consolidation. It gave back 2,880.94 points from its own high and closed 716.40 points under the 22 September low of 85,114.00, which is the neckline. Six closes have now printed below it.

Two Counts, One Band: 82,648 to 82,832
The arithmetic on a double top is simple: the distance from the peak to the neckline, projected down from the neckline. 87,395.67 minus 85,114.00 is 2,281.67 points, so the count lands at 82,832.33. The Fibonacci retracement of the leg that built the whole structure — 74,967.97 on 15 September to 87,395.67 on 21 September, 12,427.70 points — puts its 0.382 at 82,648.29. Two independent measurements, 184 points apart. Today's low of 82,705.02 printed -127.31 points under the count and 56.73 points over the retracement. That is the tag, and it is why this session decides the next two weeks.
The Rising-Lows Rail Broke Today
Since 24 September the lows had been climbing: 82,874.93, then 83,183.00, then 83,798.00, then 84,132.00 — four prints on a four-session rail climbing 419 points a session. Today's low is 1,846 points under where that rail projected, so the rail is broken. Those three lows now form a 478-point band between 82,705.02 and 83,183.00 that a bounce has to rebuild from, and underneath it sits 82,300.00 — the ceiling of the five-week box that broke on 21 September, and the last structure before the 0.5 retracement at 81,181.82.

What Each Side Needs
The bull case starts with the tag itself: a measured move that gets touched and then reclaimed is a finished correction, not a breakdown. It needs a daily close back over 84,462.73 — the 0.236 retracement of the 15-21 September leg, which today's open printed just above and which the 26 and 27 September closes both sat within 39 points of. Above it the road is 85,114.00 (the neckline), 85,159.03 (the 27 September high) and then the twin peaks at 87,278.54 and 87,395.67. A close over 87,395.67 opens 88,553.42 — the measured move of the 76,046.58-82,300.00 box — and 90,776.00, the 1.272 extension of the September leg. The bull case dies on a daily close under 81,181.82, the 0.5 retracement; everything between that and today's low is noise inside the band.
The bear case says a double top that has already taken six closes below its neckline does not need permission. The count has filled, and the 24 and 25 September lows at 82,874.93 and 83,183.00 are now the ceiling of a falling market rather than the floor of a rising one. A daily close under 82,648.29 opens 82,300.00, and losing the box top puts 81,181.82 (the 0.5) and 79,715.35 (the 0.618) in play — the neighbourhood of the 76,046.58 floor that started this whole advance. The bear case dies on a daily close above 85,159.03: that is the last lower high, and reclaiming it puts the twin peaks back on the table.
The Tape
RSI(14) is 59.4 — nothing oversold to lean on, nothing overbought to fear. The 20-day moving average sits at 80,687.68 and the 50-day at 76,493.69, both well below spot, so the medium-term trend is intact and this remains a pullback inside an uptrend until 82,300.00 actually fails. ATR(14) is 2,256 points, 2.71% of spot: at that volatility, both a tag of the 82,648-82,832 band and a reclaim of 84,462.73 are single-day moves. Bitcoin is down 4.04% on the week, up 6.25% on the month, and the window low at 57,800.19 is 43.8% away.
A double top's measured move is a checkpoint, not a verdict. The count filled today; the verdict gets written by which level comes back first — 84,463 or 82,300. Until one of those closes, the honest read is that this market has stopped going up and has not yet agreed to go down.
Watch the 28 September close. A hold above 82,648.29 keeps the retracement intact and leaves 84,462.73 as the first objective; a close under the count at 82,832.33 — already printed intraday — turns 82,300.00 into the last defence of a five-week breakout that took a month to build.
