BTC Daily Analysis — The 85,114 Neckline Given Back as the Nine-Session Rising Floor Broke: The 84,257 Retrace Decides 86,999 or 82,832
BTC gave back the 85,114 neckline after three closes above it and broke a nine-session rising floor by 1,559 points. 84,257 retrace decides 86,999 or 82,832.

Bitcoin is trading at 84,178.01 in the opening hours of the 7 October session, 3.7% under the 87,395.67 high of 21 September and 2.0% above the 82,563.00 low of 28 September. Today's range is 2,021.22, 2.40% of spot, on 6,017 BTC in the first seven hours — a pace of about 1.24x a normal full session against the 20-day average of 16,313 BTC. The number that matters is 84,257.59: the 0.618 retracement of the 82,563.00-86,999.11 October leg, and the last shelf between this price and the twin top's own count.
A Twin Top 175.67 Points Wide, Written on Declining Tape
The structure starts on 21 September. That session opened 81,178.01, printed 87,395.67 — the highest print of the entire 120-day window — and closed 86,620.00 on 31,963 BTC, which is 1.96x the 20-day average and the heaviest tape of the last three weeks. Eleven sessions later the market returned to the same shelf with less behind it: 87,220.00 on 26,498 BTC, 1.62x, closing 2,880.94 off its high. Two peaks 175.67 points apart, the second on 1.62x instead of 1.96x, and the 22 September low of 85,114.00 sitting between them as the neckline. The heavier hand sold the second peak.

Nine Rising Lows Worth 2,573 Points, Then One Break
What the pattern did not answer immediately was the floor. From the 28 September low of 82,563.00 the market produced nine consecutive higher lows — 82,563.00, 82,775.94, 82,956.11, 83,186.00, 83,888.00, 84,456.02, 84,719.99, 84,972.01 and 85,136.11 — an average lift of 321.64 points a session, with the last six of them printed above the 20-day average. That rail is the reason the twin top looked like a pause rather than a top. Today it broke: the session's low of 83,577.00 is 1,559.11 under yesterday's low and the first lower low since 28 September.
Three Closes Above the Neckline, Given Back in One Session
Under the caps the closes had been quietly constructive. The 4, 5 and 6 October sessions closed 86,530.00, 85,766.87 and 85,549.93 — three consecutive closes back above the 85,114.00 neckline, the first of them on 86,800.00 intraday — while the highs printed 86,800.00, 86,999.11 and 86,698.99, a 300.12 band, 0.35% of spot. Then today: the session opened 85,549.94, which is the 0.618 retracement of the whole 87,395.67-82,563.00 decline at 85,549.59 to within 0.35 of a dollar, and the high of 85,598.22 is the ceiling it has been trading under since. It closed 935.99 below the neckline it had held for three sessions.

The Retracement Ladder Is Where the Session Landed
The October leg runs 82,563.00 to 86,999.11 and its retracements map this session exactly: 0.382 at 85,304.52, 0.618 at 84,257.59, 0.786 at 83,512.33. Today's close of 84,178.01 sits 79.58 from the 0.618, and the low of 83,577.00 stopped 64.67 above the 0.786 — a session that broke a rail but held the last shelf before the 82,832.33 count. RSI(14) reads 49.0, back above the 45.0 of 5 October but nowhere near trend momentum. ATR(14) is 1,889.46, 2.24% of spot. The 20-day average at 83,857.80 sits under the close, the 50-day at 79,924.91 far below it, so this is a market giving back a rally inside an uptrend, not a market turning over.
Nine rising lows were worth 2,573 points. One session took back 1,559 of them and closed under the neckline: the tape has changed hands, not just changed direction.
The bull case needs two closes, not one. First the 0.618 at 84,257.59, then the 85,114.00 neckline that was given back today — that is the pair that turns this session into a shakeout. Above it the ladder is 85,304.52, the 85,952.19 quarter-retracement, and then the 86,698.99-86,999.11 cap cluster that has already rejected three sessions. A close above 86,999.11 reopens the twin top at 87,220.00 and 87,395.67, and clears the way to the 88,553.42 box count above the 82,300.00 top. The invalidation for this path is a daily close under 83,512.33.
The bear case is arithmetic. Lose the 0.786 at 83,512.33 and the unfilled twin-top count at 82,832.33 is back in play, with the 28 September sweep at 82,563.00 on the way and the 0.382 of the 76,046.58-87,395.67 impulse at 83,060.32 in the same pocket — the two bracket one shelf rather than two separate targets. A close under 82,563.00, which is also the base of the broken rail, activates the 0.5 at 81,721.12 and the 0.618 at 80,381.93, the latter inside the August breakout shelf. The bear read cancels on a daily close back above 85,114.00, because that is the level this session took.
